Description
The switch maintains optical transmission between the transmitter and the receiver in the event of a signal breaking (defective laser resulting in a line break).
In normal operation, the SMO module allows the output from the main channel. In the event of a failure, the SMO module switches to a redondant secondary channel.
The switching device from one channel to another operates automatically (detection of optical power below the switching threshold) or manually (by toggle switch or with remote control).
The module has been designed specifically for :
- Network security
- Optical transmission back up
This equipment transmits signals transparently.
Status indicators (LED) ensure a safe utilization and provide a quick diagnostic.
This equipment is available in 19’’1U rack.
