Securing of Circuit Paul Ricard

For over 50 years, the Circuit Paul Ricard has been a symbol of international motorsport. A hub of speed and cutting-edge technology, it hosts prestigious competitions such as the Formula 1 French Grand Prix and various GT championships. Yet, behind the roar of engines and the precision of racing lines lies a top priority : safety. And that’s precisely where IFOTEC steps in contributing to the security infrastructure of the Circuit Paul Ricard.

A technically demanding mission

In an environment as challenging as a motorsport circuit, every detail matters. Infrastructure must remain reliable and robust under all circumstances.

The mission entrusted to IFOTEC was to ensure reliable and continuous video surveillance, capable of withstanding the circuit’s extreme conditions, including:

  • intense vibrations,
  • long-distance transmission,
  • compact installation requirements,
  • and zero tolerance for signal loss.

IFOTEC’s technical solutions for the Circuit Paul Ricard

To meet these challenges, the Circuit Paul Ricard has chosen the MiniPlus media converters solution, specifically designed for optical transmission in critical environments.

These devices offer several key advantages:

  • A compact footprint, ideal for integration into trackside enclosures,
  • Resistance to harsh conditions,
  • And above all, lossless optical transmission, ensuring reliable and real-time imaging essential for the monitoring teams’ responsiveness and safety protocols.

Camera footage is therefore transmitted directly and seamlessly to the control room.

A clear illustration of our expertise

This project perfectly illustrates :

  • Our expertise in fibre optic transmission,
  • Our ability to design robust and high-performance solutions,
  • And our full commitment, from understanding our client’s needs to providing on-site support.

Thanks to collaboration with the circuit’s technical teams and the on-site presence of our sales engineer, Samuel Atahias, we were able to visit the facilities and observe the proper operation of our equipment.

As a result, this project stands as a testament to our ability to adapt and respond to highly demanding environments. At IFOTEC, we remain fully committed to supporting sensitive and technical sites in meeting their security, performance, and connectivity challenges today and into the future.

Finally, we warmly thank all the teams involved in the success of this project, both at IFOTEC and at Circuit Paul Ricard. Naturally, we’ll be ready for the next challenge !

Display panels installation at Grenoble

Grenoble Bus Station approached us to modernise its passenger information system, aiming to provide a smoother and more efficient service. Ultimately, our HNDF-2TG16FX Ethernet concentration switch played a crucial role in connecting the 20 platform display panels via fibre optic.

A technical challenge met with agility

During the installation of our switch, our client faced two key technical constraints :

  • A tight deployment deadline : The switch needed to handle around twenty connections, but the required additional module was out of stock.
  • A compatibility issue : The media converters used in the display network did not communicate correctly with our switch.

Tailored and effective solutions for display panels

Consequently, thanks to the expertise of Samuel Atahias, our technical sales engineer, we quickly implemented alternatives to ensure the project’s success :

  • A temporary 8-port module loan to maintain project continuity while awaiting the production of the definitive module.
  • The selection of the MiniPlus IFOTEC media converter, which was fully compatible with the network architecture.

A successful project delivered on time

With our responsiveness and technical support, the dynamic display system at Grenoble bus station was deployed without delay.
