The Cyber Resilience Act: IFOTEC anticipats the European regulation

The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is about to come into force, but at IFOTEC, we’re already prepared.
This European regulation imposes strict cybersecurity standards for connected products — and our industrial equipment already complies.

What is the Cyber Resilience Act?

Adopted in 2024, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is a European regulation that requires manufacturers of digital and connected products to meet high cybersecurity standards.

Its goal is clear: to strengthen the security of systems in an increasingly interconnected world.

From 2027 onwards, any product placed on the EU market must be designed, developed, and maintained with strong cybersecurity mechanisms to:

  • Ensure secure authentication,
  • Receive trusted software updates,
  • Provide full traceability of access and actions.

Why is IFOTEC concerned by the CRA?

At IFOTEC, our industrial equipment is connected, remotely managed, and integrated into critical networks such as telecommunications, railways, tunnels, or video surveillance.

Our products rely on:

New Mini Giga 90W

IFOTEC launches the new Mini Giga 90W, now enriched with more advanced features.

So, what’s new ?

The latest version of our 90W PoE++ media converter integrates three intelligent modes for simplified fibre link management and diagnostics :

  • OPC (Optical PoE Control) : automatically disables PoE power to the IP PD device when the fibre link is cut or faulty
  • FEF (Far-End Fault) : detects an optical link failure and disables copper interfaces to alert connected equipment
  • LFP (Link Fault Pass-Through) : detects a copper link failure and disables copper interfaces on both converters to signal the issue

Together, these features ensure easier troubleshooting, enhanced network security, reduced maintenance, and improved energy efficiency.

💡 Bonus benefit : the Mini Giga 90W can also be used as a PoE injector.

And of course, these innovations come in addition to the trusted strengths that have always made the Mini Giga 90W stand out.

This model includes a 100/1000 Mbps PoE++ RJ45 port. It supports IEEE 802.3af (PoE), 802.3at (PoE+), and IEEE 802.3bt type 3 and 4 (PoE++). It can deliver up to 90W to a PD-type IP device.

The Mini Giga 90W is equipped with a 100/1000 Mbps SFP port. A dip switch allows configuration of the same speed (100 or 1000 Mbps) on both ports.

Furthermore, like all IFOTEC products, it comes in a compact form factor, making it ideal for tight spaces. It remains reliable and fully operational in harsh environments from -40°C to +75°C.
